Follow the Herring

Join us for the arrival a life size knitted coble boat Berwick Gymnasium Gallery as part of the ‘Follow the Herring’ national tour exploring the maritime heritage of the east coast from Musselborough to Hove.

Along the route of its tour communities with maritime connections are being invited to get together and celebrate this heritage. Over the past 6 months artists and crafts makers from Berwick have been working to create a huge range of artworks to accompany the coble boat and celebrate Berwick’s rich fishing and maritime heritage.

Look out for ‘Get up and Tie your Fingers’ a theatre production set against the backdrop of the 1881 Eyemouth Fishing Disaster taking place at The Maltings Theatre & Cinema on Friday 16 May also as part of the Follow the Herring tour.
