From potato satellites to Sports Direct mugs, join Glasgow-based Action Research group Durty Beanz for their solo exhibition NEVER EVER.
Developed during their 6-month residency in 2022 with The Maltings and Newcastle University, the exhibition presents an ambitious new film work exploring the complex set of relationships between food, rurality and digital spaces in Northumbrialand.
Durty Beanz are an Action Research Group based in Glasgow. The project has grown to include interdisciplinary artists, academics and makers from across the world, allowing the group to produce a diverse range of outputs operating at the intersection of contemporary art practice and digital anthropology.
Their goal is to playfully interrogate the shifting status of digital food objects, specifically in relation to global food inequalities, climate crisis and cultural identities.
NEVER EVER is supported by Newcastle University’s Institute for Creative Arts Practice and Centre for Rural Economy.
