Screening at Maltings Cinema at Berwick Barracks 

A genial teacher with his own unique ideas on how to bring out the potential in his pupils lands a job with an elementary school in a neglected Mexican Border town holding the dubious record of having among the worst results in the entire country. 

Sergio’s colleagues are uninspiring and uninspired, delivering Government-mandated  tests to bored pupils amidst run-down facilities. But all of this is about to change! As the school students are encouraged to think for themselves and get involved in learning, headway starts to happen. However, not everyone is in favour of Sergio’s groundbreaking methods…   

A film festival audience favourite, this true story has a feel-good effect while not ignoring the hardships the pupils face in their neighbourhood and home life.
